A very current issue that has hit the Cisco market is the huge surge in counterfeit equipment being sold on third party seller sites such as Amazon and Ebay.  This has always been a problem, but it has really escalated in the last few years.  Does the price look too good to be true? Iit probably is!

It has happened again on a major scale!  Just recently, 8/2023, three more men have admitted to trafficking counterfeit Cisco equipment.  As you can see, this is a wide spread issues that continues to be a problem in the networking world.  According to U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger, “Although the defendants advertised the Cisco products they offered for sale as new and genuine, the products were counterfeit devices they procured from various overseas suppliers at well below market prices and resold at higher prices”.
